I think this conclusion woud have been reached a few years ago, had not the Texas qb McCoy went down early in the NCG against Alabama.
We saw what the highpowered offenses from the Big-12 could do to the vaunted “SEC Defense” with the addition of ATM to the SEC. Yesterday, the high powered offense of Clemson showed the same to a highly favored LSU. New Year’s Day Bowls were a mixed bag: but clearly underwhelming.
SEC Football, in a word, overated.

Nuke, don’t give up hope on the SEC, they still have a few games left.
I’m for sure pulling for ‘BAMA in the Bull Crap Series Championship game (BCS). Sorry for the Dawgs loss against the Boilermakers. One of the few Bowl wins that the Big Ten will have.
Oops, It was the Northwestern Wildcats.
It is a proven fact this year in the scores, THE BIG TEN TEAMS SUCK!!!
It sucks that the Bulldogs couldn’t beat NW.
I just don’t agree the SEC is overrated, they are still the gold standard in college football with that MNC winning streak and I hope they keep that MNC streak intact for at least one more game. I want the Tide to pound the hunchbacks to the ground, then lay their head on the curb and stomp it.
While TAMU may have gone into Tuscaloosa and beat the Tide, don’t forget ULM did the same thing a few years ago and it was homecoming. While that win was a signature win for TAMU and got Manziel the Heisman, they didn’t do so good against the other powers of the SEC this year.
While I have no hatred of TAMU and still think the world of Coach Sumlin, I don’t see the Ags stopping the OU offense, even if little Johnny runs wild. So I do expect the SEC to lose at least one more bowl game, but this being TAMU’s first season in the SEC I wouldn’t lay claim to them just yet. Kind of like the FNG in your school, you need to find his measure.
BTW, good to be back. Been out of town for several days getting lots of hugs and kisses from my daughters and grandbabies. Makes all the other BS worthwhile.
yes it do!
BTW, had to go to the urban dictionary for fng. Heh
Don’t you just hate that guy?

Welcome home N2L!!
I’ll bet Capt. F-Bomb cuts loose with some F’s at halftime.
Doesn’t look like it helped much. Florida was outcoached, outplayed, and outhustled by Louisville. This game was over with the failed on-side attempt (just like the MSU-NU game).
Louisville shot them in their lizard brains.
By my reckoning, the SEC is 3-3 with two to go.
The Big 12 is 4-3 with two to go.
The Big 10 is 2-5 and done.
The PAC 12 is 3-4 with one to go.
The ACC is 4-3 and done.
I think OU takes aTm, Bama takes ND, Ore takes KSU, and Ole Miss takes Pitt.final recs,
SEC 5-4, B-12 5-4, Pac 4-4
Everybody is neck and neck, but Bama in the NCG carries the mail for the SEC
Yessir, and of course the MNC is what has set the gold standard for the SEC for what…six straight years now?
I think dat’s right!
Nuke, I agree on all but one of the games, I feel aTm will take OU. It will be a battle for sure.
I don’t think TAMU can stop OU’s offense, not just being a homer.
BOOMER SOONER!
I learned something a month or so ago from our blog friend Travis Normand at one point safety.com. I had never heard of a one point safety, but I got to see my first one in tonight's Fiesta Bowl. Oregon lines up for the PAT, but KSU blocks the kick into the endzone. the ball is picked up by a KSU player who attempts to run it out. He's tackled in the end-zone. Result? You guessed it: a one point safety for Oregon. Bizzare!!
heh, I just found that rule on the radio this evening once it happened, for sure weird.
Never knew that, how odd.
Wow, Ducks sure took care of the Wildcats tonight!!!
GO ‘BAMA!!!!!!
Watched maybe five minutes. Just had no interest in it.
GO ‘BAMA GO!!!!!!!
Curb stomp those hunchback leprechauns!
Then kick the lucky charm loving TV announcers in the nads.
Man, I am loving the Bama beat down.
/effing fightin’ frenchies
OH YEAH LOVING IT!!!!
Bama’s QB has a hot girl friend.
