David Honeyboy Edwards, the “Last of the Great Mississippi Delta Bluesmen” has died. This morning Monday August 29, 2011, about 3 am while resting peacefully at home, Honeyboy moved on to blues heaven.
This picture was taken in West Point at the dedication of the Howlin Wolf Statue downtown….Rest in peace, sir… you were a fine blues gentleman…

Richard Ramsey says, “I was backstage at the robert johnson tribute in Meridian a few months back when hubert and honeyboy were playing w/big head todd and cedric and malcolm. He was still sharp as a tack and remembered hoboing w/ big joe williams thru west point. He told me back in 97 the story of robert johnson being poisoned and how he was “foamin at the mouth like a rabid dog”….RIP HONEYBOY”
