Band of Brothers

Today is St. Crispin’s Day.

Although I’m not sure what St. Crispin’s Day is all about, William Shakespeare made sure it would be never forgotten in Henry V.

This clip is from the movie Renaissance Man.

  1. It is a day of giving, in observance of the twin brothers, Crispin and Crispinian.
FWIW, Danny Devito irritates the shiite out of me.
    I like this video better.

  2. Dymphna has a good post up on the hoax that is the swine flu nonsense.
Here is the Fumento page linked to.

And yes, it’s a bunch of hog droppings.

  3. Ten more people died of swine flu last week in Florida. 914 are hospitalized in critical condition.

  4. As for the current president’s national emergency, from the NYSlimes.

”Many millions” of Americans have had swine flu so far, according to an estimate that CDC Director Dr. Thomas Frieden gave Friday. The government doesn’t test everyone to confirm swine flu so it doesn’t have an exact count. He also said there have been more than 20,000 hospitalizations.[but I'm sure that is just an estimate]

  5. None. It isn’t flu season yet. The people that do die of seasonal flu are old folks, hospitalized for other reasons.

    • The few from this area that are proclaimed as swine flu victims all have serious underlying health conditions.
Without testing positive for this flu, I call bullshit.

  6. Not here. Some with preexisting conditions, of course. Lots of previously healthy folk. Lots of pregnant women. Mostly youngish folk.

  7. 131 Floridians dead as of Tuesday. Kids, pregnant women, people in the prime of life, as well as people with compromised immune systems, people with heart problems, sick children.

    • As of three days ago, the only confirmed swine flu death was a a toddler from Mexico that died in Texas.
If they aren’t confirming the cause, as the feds have claimed they aren’t, I ain’t buying the hysteria.

Nuke, if you are asking me, HELL no I ain’t. I don’t take the other kind of flu shots, either.

  8. you planning on getting the vaccine?

  9. I had the swine flu shot back in the 70s without any ill effect so I’m certainly not going to worry about this one! I had the seasonal flu shot this year. I also had another tetanus shot because of deep puncture bite wounds, and I’m undergoing the hep B shots. I would purely LOVE to get the swine flu shot because I’m exposed daily at work; however, there aren’t enough available and I’m not on the priority list.

    • Dang, Swampie!
They just need to hit you with one of those military compressed air multi-needle guns.
I haven’t had a shot of any kind since 1997, and don’t want any, either.

  10. I don’t know what to believe on this anymore. I’m not getting the vaccine, but the wife wants one for the 7year old. We had 2 deaths this week, one a healthy girl of 6. They say it was swine, but I don’t know.

    • If momma says, it shall be done.
If you follow those links I put at the top, it seems to be mostly hysteria and not actually proven or confirmed swine flu cases.
I was watching a game Saturday night, and the BYU team had four players last week with what they called the swine flu. They traveled with the team, while wearing masks, and stayed segregated from the players that didn’t have it, but they still played, and were playing this past Saturday night, as well.
I’m more concerned about the young guy in a small pickemup truck, texting while driving 80mph on the freeway, than I am this latest
      scare-the-shit-out-of-everybody flu.

  11. Yup, they’re scaring the bejessus out of people. Crying wolf is the game of the decade it seems.
