“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”
Sonia Sotomayor, during a 2001 speech at the UC Berkeley School of Law, published in the Berkeley La Raza Law Journal.

Judge Sonia Sotomayor is listed as a member of the National Council of La Raza, but does that make her a racist?
24Ahead.com takes a detailed look at the La Raza (The Race).
Here is an excerpt:
Far-left racial power organization that’s considered mainstream but which funds extremists (also here) and supports illegal immigration as a way of obtaining political power. Funded by, among others, the Ford Foundation, the U.S. government (also see this, this, and this), and major corporations such as HomeDepot and General Motors. Has been pandered to by many top politicians, including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, John McCain, and Karl Rove (see this). Per the Washington Post, they and a few other groups had “virtual veto power” over the provisions of the 2007 comprehensive immigration reform (i.e., amnesty) bill.
Headed by Janet Murguia for several years, before then by Raul Yzaguirre. Former senior VP Cecilia Munoz is now part of the Obama administration. Former chairwoman is Monica Lozano (now on the Bank of America board, more here); current is Andrea Bazan (more here). …
In 1994, they gave their “Chicano Hero Award” to the person who’d made this statement years earlier:
“We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him.”
In the last election, The Democrats successfully sold the idea that Obama’s previous associations with radicals and separatists like Jeremiah Wright, and unrepentant terrorists like William Ayers was nothing at all to be concerned about. “Guilt by association,” they said. Prior to throwing him under the campaign bus, Obama himself even claimed to have never heard any of the more inflammatory words of his pastor. This was the man who baptized his children, a man he once called his spiritual mentor. And, the American public, hungry for change and tired of the steady diet of negativity in the news cycle, elected a man with no experience and a history of dubious past associations.
The Sotomayor nomination appears to be more of the same song, just a different verse.
When a judge rules based upon personal values rather than the law, then the rule of law is replaced by the rule of judicial fiat.
I do hope Senator Sessions is loaded for bear.

Haven’t much time to really get into this, or many other matters, lately. The meat world does intrude so.
I will be looking to see who the Republicans are on the Senate Judiciary Committee. The confirmation cannot proceed to the Senate floor without at least one member of the minority voting yes. With Specter gone, Thank God, it will be interesting to see if the GOP will stand together or wimp out. I need to check on it, but maybe someone already knows, is Lindsay Grahamnesty on this committee?
Jeff Sessions, Ranking Member, Alabama
Orrin G. Hatch, Utah
Charles E. Grassley, Iowa
Jon Kyl, Arizona
Lindsey Graham, South Carolina
John Cornyn, Texas
Tom Coburn, Oklahoma
Looking at that group, the only name that concerns me is….yeah, you guessed right.
Is he up for re-election next year? If so, he needs to be taken to the closet and have his attitude adjusted.
Here’s something to get outraged over.
Couple Ordered to Stop Holding Bible Study at Home Without Permit
For some reason I can’t log in here anymore so you might want to make a thread of this. I find it very troubling, and I’m not as close to religion as you guys.
I saw that in the Freep feed, a little while ago.
Sounds like some citizens in that county need to burn up the phones to the county commissioners. They are about to get the shiite sued out of them, and they are already bankrupt.
What’s with the login?
Been screwed up for months. I can log into every WP site in the world except here. It used to only be a problem with the laptop, but now I can’t get in on the big’un either.
Tell nuke, maybe another admin invite is needed.
It’s all innernut whoo-doo to me, why some things happen.
A password change, perhaps?
Gotta hit the bunk.
G’nite bud. I’m sure nuke can fix it.
I dunno Robo. Something like that happened to vimto a couple of years ago. Might have to set up a new author account.
OK, how do we do that? I miss being able to post here.
I sent an invite to your ymail address
It’s not working nuke. Tomorrow try me at the bobon email and we’ll try it again. Thanks.
