IRAQI and US forces have arrested the “number one butcher” responsible for beheadings in the volatile Diyala province north of Baghdad. “Iraqi forces received intelligence on a very dangerous terrorist known as the number one butcher who was responsible for a beheading squad that slaughtered innocent people,” Major General Mohammed al-Askari said. The suspect, Riyad [...]

President Bush has described the current economic meltdown with the phrase, “Wall Street got drunk.” After reading Michael Lewis’ account, “The End of Wall Street’s Boom,” I think the president’s description is quite the understatement. Usually, reading about financial topics, subprime mortgages, CDO’s, CDS’s, is enough to glaze my eyes over. The reason, primarily, is [...]

Turns out the “unnamed source in the McCain campaign” is a narcissistic liar who is currently going by the name of Martin Eisenstadt. Martin, or Tommy, or Michael, or whatever he is calling himself previously jumped the shark with his hoax story about Joe the Plumber. Apparently Carl Cameron didn’t get the memo, and went [...]

Outstanding choice. I mean it. This is wonderful news. Please, oh please fellow bloggers in the Right-o-sphere, go easy on this. Hear me out. Preznit Obama can choose whomever he wants in his Cabinet. Hold your fire until the confirmation hearings, then embarrass the heck out of Goreleck, Obama, and the whole sordid crowd. Sharpen [...]

The anonymous attacks on Gov. Sarah Palin have a familiar ring to me. I was thinking about this after hearing Carl Cameron’s report on Fox, and after reading several other kneecap-recaps as reported in the blogosphere. I have no way of verifying my suspicions, so I haven’t commented on it. But, since the stealth attackers [...]

Early in his campaign, Barack Obama pledged to end missile defense. He made a video stating the goal quite clearly. Perhaps the wishful thinkers who have been telling us that Obama would govern as a centrist might want to provide an interpretation of the latest weasel words of the preznit-elect, from the Beeb, US President-elect [...]

While my fellow contributers here have extraordinary skills in expressing their views, alas, I have few. I must confess to a bit of ADD. Therefore I try to find articles that reflect my thoughts, and this is one of those. Jim Towey has a fine article in the Wall Street Journal that gives us a [...]

As the economic slowdown continues, selective buying by LOMAs will have an important impact. In the last election cycle, an activist website called “buyblue” put together a list of favorability ratings for businesses, and encouraged their supporters to do business with the higher rated companies. They have since taken down their list, but it was [...]

I know this post isn’t going to be popular here, but it needs to be said. And before you mail me the letter bomb, try to bear in mind that I’m writing these words as a Conservative who is keenly and profoundly disappointed in the result of the 2008 elections. I saw this coming two [...]

Fox has called the Mississippi Senatorial race between Republican Roger Wicker and former Democrat governor Ronnie Musgrove. In a close and hard fought battle, Wicker is the winner. A bright spot for the GOP in an otherwise Democrat night, this victory ensures that the Dems will not get to the filibuster-proof limit of 60 votes.

I was reading an article over at Politico a few days ago which talked about obama’s appeal to church-going Christians. Or, should I say, his lack of appeal to church-going Christians. In spite of all that has been written and talked about the obama outreach effort to evangelical voters, only 28% if this large demographic [...]

If the good folks in the coal producing states haven’t voted yet, they definitely need this information. B-HO’s words, recorded in January, are just now being made known, and it’s truly a shame. This is the type of rhetoric that many of us were already certain of, that he will kill jobs in this country, [...]

With 1 second remaining, Texas Tech’s star receiver Michael Crabtree caught a Graham Harrell TD pass for a dramatic, come-from-behind 39-33 victory over the top ranked Texas Longhorns. Lubbock will be a party town tonight. The look on Texas QB Colt McCoy’s face on the sideline was one of stunned disbelief. On the game’s final [...]

Yesterday, I wrote a short post about Obama’s aunt who was revealed to be living in a housing project in Boston… … if this were John McCain’s or Sarah Palin’s aunt, do you think we would be reading about it in a British newspaper, only days before the election? Somehow, I get the feeling that [...]
