“America is …, uh, is no longer, uh … what it could be, what it once was. And I say to myself, I don’t want that future for my children.”
I wish he would be more specific here. Which America does he want? The one prior to the Civil War wherein his daughters could be property? The America prior to integration when black-owned businesses flourished? The America with the Jim Crow laws? The America prior to 1900 where the average life span was less than what he celebrated at his birthday this week? Maybe he prefers America when it belonged to Great Britain. That must be it.
America at this point in time has the best living conditions EVER for the majority of its people.
Oh, snap. He probably prefers America before Al Gore invented the internet.

It’s like Obama “takes pride in being ignorant”.
Bwhahahahahaha
He was always more interested in world history than American history.
And his self even more so. Heh.
That quote reminds me of this O nugget.
Our best traditions? Tell me ‘O’blivious ‘One’ how does Marxism fit in with America’s best traditions?
I think he’s trying to return to the Great Depression. Or maybe just the Great Malaise (Jimmy Carter era).
I think he and MyBell need to get their speech writers together, and decide which anti-America disparagement technique to use. Is it “what it could be, what it once was,” or is it the “for the first time I’m proud?” They are now tag-team flip-flop-flipping, and I don’t know of any one who can keep up with it all.
This dog and pony show is a whole lot worse than the John Kerry “slap in the face” of the 2004 debacle IMO. What I have a problem with is just how we can trust the what evers that came up with this selection process in the first place. By default they’re giving us no direction and a bunch of circus acts (clowns included), and trinkets for our time.
We seem to have a set of circumstances and problems afflicting the human race that can’t be solved by one man (or women) alone. We’ll all be involved at some point if given the time.
So how are the rest of you? Restless?
VH if you ever need a chainsaw, sledge hammer, nail clippers, or somebody to run all of the above, just give me a a shout. I’d be there in a heartbeat. Actually, what I can offer is my moral support. Hope that helps.
Nice place you got here Nuke and it’s good to see the old reliables keeping the faith.
Catch ya’all later, the chores beckon and it’s just about…… DINNER TIME!
We call that “lights out” in this neck of the woods.
