Busy news day: Times square bomb at military recruiting center, pipe bombs at UC Davis, continued volatility in the financial markets, hedge fund woes continue, politics, politics, and more politics. Here’s a few of the stories that have grabbed my attention…..

122 FAA badges “unaccounted for.”

Dozens of federal inspector credentials giving access to airports have gone missing, an NBC 5 investigation revealed.

According to the investigation, 122 Federal Aviation Administration safety inspector badges have been stolen or lost in the past five years. The credentials are one of the few forms of identification that give complete and unfettered access to airport facilities, including the cockpits of planes in flight.  (News 5)

Obama’s Oil for Food connection.

The sudden emergence of [Iraqi billionaire Nadhmi] Auchi into this story indicates Rezko’s deals may include a money trail leading back to dead Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. Auchi’s Saddam links trace back to a failed 1959 assassination attempt on the life of then-Iraqi-prime-minister Abdul Karim Qasim.Auchi’s General Mediterranean Holdings company was also the largest private shareholder in Banque Nationale de Paris which later merged with Paribas to become BNP Paribas. At Saddam’s insistence, billions of dollars of Oil for Food transactions passed through BNP from its 1995 inception until 2001. (American Thinker)

Mookie “comatose, in Iranian hospital”

Shi’ite cleric and leader Muqtada Al-Sadr was secretly transferred a few days ago from Iraq to Iran for hospitalization as he was comatose.

It was reported that his illness resulted from food poisoning.

Al-Sadr is being treated by Iranian specialists, as well as by Russian doctors brought in to help the Iranian medical staff treat him. Source: Al-Siyassa, Kuwait, March 3, 2008

  3. Food poisoning?
I can only hope it is form of poisoning other than staphylococcus.

  4. While that tiny pistol is impressive as an expression of creativity, I don’t fear it’s lethality anymore than a pin prick. Besides, trying to bring it into operation would be more trouble than it’s worth. Sight alignment and trigger control would be impossible.

  5. It would have to be a Jack Ruby shot.

  6. Uhhh….how you gonna activate that trigger? A bobbie-pin?

  7. Dangit Robert D!!!
Why is this white crap from the sky coming here, instead of where you is?

  8. I don’t know why you’re getting my snow! I want it back, it’s almost 60 here before noon.

  9. I want you to have it back, too.

I love snow I’ll take some. I am still kicking myself for not taking a walk the other day when it was falling.

  11. VH, if you’re still hanging around, looks like there’s another.

  12. I’m still hanging Robert. Thinking about lying down. I must of caught a bug. Feel really ill. Nausea and headache. Blah.
I need to get up from this computer.

What the heck is going on?

Both Carson and Burk are Georgia natives, from towns about one hour apart.

Good gosh they could be connected(?)
    Highly unusual none the less.

  13. There sure seems to be something in the water lately. Get some rest VH. Catch ya later.

  14. VH, you and Robert D both love that white stuff. Not me, I don’t even like to look out the window and see it, much less have to go out in it.
I sure feel for those families down in Georgia, having to deal with such tragedies. I saw the Auburn teen that was murdered, and dang what a pretty little girl. Her folks must be inconsolable right now.

  15. Dang n2l, I just saw a little bit on Fox on that snow. It sure didn’t look like a little dusting…..at least not the Dallas-FW area.

  16. OT Are y’all’s stats frozen?

  17. I believe mine are…I was wondering. I do have a site VH. Bob’s Bites. Shameful plug.

  20. OT Are y’all’s stats frozen?

Speaking for myself only, no they aren’t, I have on thermals under my sweat pants.

  21. Robert
