Jesus’ coming was foretold in prophecies, long before his birth, and no other has had the impact on mankind, as he.
Teaching and guiding any who would listen, and shaping the world even for those who chose to ignore him, no other being on Earth has changed life like Jesus, for so many, and for so long.
I celebrate his birth, and can only pray to live the life he wished for us all.
Please take a moment to reflect on what this day, his recognized Birthday, means to us, flawed as we are. He has always loved us.

Oh yes! Most assuredly yes!
Happy Birthday Jesus!
Happy first day of Christmas everyone.
This Day of Days, explained clearly and simply.
Santa brought SwampMan a new La-Z-Boy to replace his old one this year (with a strict admonition by Santa to avoid collapsing in it before a shower and change of clothes after he’d been working on engines).
He was given gifts by his parents, my parents, and our children. The best gift of all, however, was when I was in the local grocery store on Christmas eve, and a poised young woman asked me if I was Mrs. SwampWoman. I replied in the affirmative, and she told me that she had gone on to graduate school and gotten a master’s degree, and she was starting on her doctorate next term. Whenever life felt too hard and she was ready to give up, she said she could hear his voice in her head telling her that she could do it and try again because she needed to get an education to get what she wanted out of life, so she did.
When SwampMan started teaching, he taught the kids that for whatever reason were having a very difficult time in school. Some had behavioral problems, some undoubtedly had learning disabilities, and some had very chaotic home lives that were reflected in their school grades and test outcomes. Just knowing that someone had overcome that poor start with the help that he had given meant everything to him.
Dang!
That is a great gift.
