Thanks for the smile nuke, especially 5&7.
Time Magazine Blames Global Warming for Warm Wet Weather in Cambodia
Read it all at Moonbattery
Grocery store goofs with Hanukkah ham ad
I just know there’s going to be mass riots and threatened beheadings over this./
ok, my damage has been done, see ya.
Heh. Yeah, I was wondering why Cambodia wasn’t a snow covered winter wonderland. Thanks to George Bush and Global Warming, the little Cambodian children won’t be able to go sledding or get into snowball fights.
Those poor kids!
If the commies don’t kill them, the skeeters will.
Dang that George Bush, for letting the Khmer Rouge take over Cambodia, and blanket the land with little commie bloodsuckers…skeeters too.
Some good news for nuke:
Huck up 12 points nationally and Huck rolling in S C
Jeanne Assam Stopped Gunman At New Life Church.
Not many ever receive such a clear and immediate answer to our prayers.
She is certainly blessed, and a blessing.

Hey Robert D.
Mike is in Dallas tonight, asking for dollars.
It would seem that the more Mike gets attacked, the more his numbers go up.
/odd…that
Finally! Someone had a gun and knew how to use it.
It do appear that way n2l.
She said her hand didn’t even shake.
She was on a mission from God.
It do…don’t it?
And more are jumping on him every day. H A has one of two Huckbashers a day, Jawa, AoS, Doug Ross…..if they just keep it up he’s a shoe in.
I heard Romney’s number one cheerleader, Hugh Hewitt, going on this afternoon, saying Chris Wallace skewered Mike on Sunday, which I didn’t see or hear about, til then. He claims Mike won’t come back on his show, since he asked him one tough question back in October. I happened to hear that interview in Oct, it Mike was fine, and answered his questions, but Hugh is so in love with Mitt, they may need to get a room.
There has never been, nor will there ever be, a perfect candidate or POTUS. Ain’t gonna happen. Even RWR did and said some things that I didn’t like or agree with.
But there are certainly some candidates that are just plain wrong. Like all of the donks, and Giuliani.
It’s gettin’ real ugly already and I think they’re all scared that Huck will catch on with the “flyover” states. That and all the others seem not to have anything new for their cheerleaders to crow about. The popularity contest may be in trouble.
evening y’all
blogging will be light this week.
I’ve got a bear of a week.
watta ya mean this week?
Granted, Iowa really isn’t that big of a deal, as it is kind of an weird coffee klatch affair, but it can show a trend, and if it is reinforced by another primary or two, can start a tidal wave.
After the Super Tuesday votes are counted, we will have a much better idea, not only who is leading, but who is freaking out.
Remember Dean’s Scream?
Henh.
Hey nuke.
It’s the sprint to the finish here to, as business dies after about the 20th, and doesn’t come back until the second week of Jan.
Who could forget.
n2l, you said the south loves college and high school sports. Well our town is pretty PO’d about SOCAL screwing us again.Undefeated and the same record over 2 years as the team that gets to go. BCS?
Foothill Cougars denied state title game despite flawless record
You two make it hard for a guy on vacation to sit on his ass……..
we be sprintin’
I’ve been trying to keep it going RD. Just a whole lot on my plate right now.
200 new blogs added to the bloggers for huckabee blogroll.
Close to 600 now.
nuke, I’m just funnin’ wit ya. I’ll be here when you get back. Heck, I may just post some topics of my own. (that ought to make you worry
Man!
Robert D, that’s one screwed up system for determining a champion.
Here’s how the State of Texas does it. Each district from the different classifications, 5A-4A-3A-2A-1A, send the three top finishers to the playoffs. Division 1 of each district has one team, and Division 2 gets the other two. Each classification is based on daily average enrollment, with 5A being the largest schools, and Division 1 being the largest schools of each district.
Here is the bracket for 5A Division 2.(pdf)
It’s imminently fair. You win, you advance, and if you win the last game of the year, you are the champ.
That Cali system is effed up. Nothing but favoritism and politics.
Yeah nuke, if we want to eat in January(and I do like to eat), we gotta make the money now.
What is this v-a-c-a-t-i-o-n of which you speak, Robert D?
n2l, this vacation thing is the reason I was MIA in the summer. I don’t really like the 14-16 hour days in the summer, but I love not having to leave the house in the winter. Good deal, if you can get it.
I guess so.
/long as you are of some use at home
Oh, now that hurts.
Henh.
Big gun down on AMC with Open Range.
Need a break.
/brb
Back to the football thing. Yeah that’s effed up, but it fits Cali perfectly. I think I read where some teams from here are going to a bowl game with a 50/50 record.
That ain’t right, and is unfair to the kids.
Politics.
Look who’s getting scared now. Romney to run ad against Huckabee
I saw that earlier, and heard some talk on the radio.
I need to check and see if Mike’s interview with Chris Wallace is available.
The bowl games I was talking about are the college games you guys watch.
Here it is
Here you go n2l
Found it!
HEE-HEE!
On the bowl games, I thought you were talking about your high school system.
In the college bowl games, you have to win six games against Div 1A opponents to qualify. Some of the bowls that those kind of teams are playing in are not big payouts, but a reward for the players.
The BCS bowls are huge payouts.
Ok, I just heard about the records and thought WTH is a 50/50 team getting rewarded for. But mediocrity is more the norm in schools now anyway.
Here is the 2007 bowl schedule with payouts.
There a bunch of teams with 6-6 records, but all of them had some big wins, along the way.
Cal finished at 6-6, and at one point, they were #1 in the nation, for about thirty minutes, then they crashed and burned bad, down the stretch.
I wouldn’t call it mediocrity as much as teams that showed some ability, but due to injuries, or bad breaks, finished out of the running for the championship. Many of those 6-6 teams, on a good day, like a bowl game where they have had almost a month to rest up, heal up, and practice, could play with the best teams in the country.
see, once again……grasshopper.
Back to our high school playoffs, the championship game of the 5A and 4A divisions, are televised on Fox Sports, live.
Back in 1990, my old high school played for it’s first ever state championship, in the Houston Astrodome. It was very exciting, and such a great bunch of kids, with one of the finest men I’ve ever known, as the coach.
They won the game, 21-19, in a thrilling game, with lots of big plays. Then we had to make the typical three and a half hour drive home, except the roads were iced up from Houston all the way back. It took about ten hours, but made it safe. Then, three days later, got to watch the game on tape, on ESPN.
What a HOOT!
Words to live by
Mostly around here, when we get out of high school, it’s see ya around………….
Henh.
My graduating class has a reunion every five years. We were tight.
Ours are every 10. Mrs. D just went to hers.
Here’s a short bio on Coach Dennis Parker.
What he did, in the seven years at Marshall, are still remembered fondly by the citizens there. He not only helped mold a bunch of young men into a winning team, he helped bring an entire town together.
After flirting with going all the way for several years, but losing one or two games away from the championship, it was looking like the kids coming back had all of the ingredients for a championship. One of the outside linebackers was getting questionaires from every major college in the country. He was 6’4″, 225lbs. ran a 4.4/4.5 forty yard dash, and was a good kid and student. During spring training before his junior year ended, he got hurt in practice…a stinger in his neck. The team doc, an orthopedic surgeon, examined him, and determined he had a narrowing of his cervical vertebrae and the risk of permanent paralysis was too great, and recommended to Coach, that he shouldn’t play. He told the young man, that because he respected him as a man, not a player, he couldn’t allow him to play, his future was too important, than for playing a game. The young man’s parents, looking at the potential he had with maybe a career in the NFL, took their son to numerous docs, trying to get one of them to sign a letter, saying he was okay to play. They found one and took it to coach, and he said no, because the team doc said no. They tried to force him to allow their son back on the team, by going to the school board. He told them, that if they forced him to let the kid back on the team, he would, but he would never leave the bench…he would not play.
Now, how many coaches would take that letter, and say “welcome back, son.” Just so they might enhance their chances of winning.
They won the state championship without him, anyway.
g-nite.
Nite, nuke.
Hang in there.
I’ll try and bang some things out, but time is limited here, as well.
g’nite nuke
nice story n2l
Guess my offer really scared nuke……..
Nah, he wouldn’t give you the keys to the palace if he didn’t trust you.
Doing the nicely researched pieces he does takes up a lot of time. I was more prolific earlier this year, but work and personal stuff, just kind of grind on me, and when I get home, I want to sit and love on my dear old friend Buddy, more and more, especially since his health started declining.
In fact, it is later than I thought, and I have to get up.
See you tamale, Robert D
Is it because I find things like this newsworthy?
Man freed after 100 hours trapped in a lavatory
I like this part.
I know, and I do appreciate that. I’ll keep within the standards.
See you man yawna, n2l.
