But don't take my word for it.

The House voted 118-0 Thursday to approve the bill, which also moves up Florida's presidential primary to Jan. 29, making it one of the earliest in the nation. The Senate approved the bill last week.

''This moves Florida up in the picking of the next leader of the free world, it puts us in a place where we should have been before,'' Crist said.

Moving up the presidential primary was a top priority for House Speaker Marco Rubio, who included it in his 100 Ideas book that he released last fall. Democrats have also backed the idea, but national Democratic Party leaders have warned they will punish the state party if the primary is held earlier than Feb. 5.

Huh. Guess the Democrats were all absent that day or something.

Henh, well the rules matter, but then they don't, if you know what I mean.
Everybody knows the Florida legislature is in the pocket of the VRWC, everybody!
That any national party should get their knickers in a twist over which state goes first, second, or last just doesn't make any sense to me, nor do I care. The state parties seem to think it matters that they play a more significant role in selecting the nominee, which is fine, as I never understood why New Hampshire was any kind of gauge of what America thinks, unless you are a liberal...or a colonialist tradition devotee. What Florida has to say about their nominee is far more important than what NH or Iowa, as it has the same number of electoral college votes as New York.
It doesn't really matter, as Texas is considering moving their primary up ahead of Florida. HA! The DNC just wants to exert control over all state parties, that's all.

Hi boys and girls.

Funny how none of you noticed that moving up the primary date to January 29th was done by the Goper dominated Florida legislature. The head Gopers in charge knew full well what the DNC penalties were for going before February 5th.

BTW - the RNC is going to penalize the RPF too. Maybe you want to blog about that?

I wonder what demeaning method of dress SanFranNan will chose, when she decides to visit Hugo?
Do you think they have chador shops in SanFran? I'm thinking they do, what with all the rabid Palestinian types out there. So she could probably pop into Aisha's Chador shop before she goes to visit Ahmadamdingdong. Personally, I don't think she needs to, as her feminine curves and hair rays couldn't possibly inspire any prurient thoughts, even for President Mahmoud MonkeyBoy.

I agree!
It's clearly working so well for them. That, and the fact that they have accomplished nothing legislatively in their first one hundred days in control of Congress. So with nothing to show but some ridiculous hearings, attacks on President Bush and his admin, they want to shift gears and bring up the debate over the Fairness Doctrine. Since they are such proponents of free speech, they want to silence their critics.
Yep, good job congress critters, keep up the good work.
