How to build your own laptop….Tim at Daily Cup has the details…
Many of us have been building workstations and servers for years. Really, it was quite simple. All you need to do is get the components, snap everything together, and presto! you had a computer!
But, if you said that you wanted to build a laptop, that was a whole different story! All of the components were proprietary. Getting everything in to a small package was a huge task. Very few seemed up to

Yep! that’s my next project. Right after that typing lesson. lol
Or the lesson about smiley faces.;-)
I don’t have any projects lined up.
I would like to learn to make my own rifle barrels, though.
I had thought about building my own ‘puter, but it’s hard to beat the prices these days, of one already assembled and loaded with a operating system.

Now, That, may become a useful trade in the not so distant future. Although I think you and I will be long gone before the Mad Maxx stuff starts.
Well, I already have all the various weapons, ammo, and accessories I will ever need or want, but still, to have the equipment and skills to turn out a great rifle barrel would be immensely satisfying.
I agree. To DIY would make it sooo sweet.
That’s how Eliphalet Remington got started, by making the very best barrels available. I worked in the Armory for a while when I was in the USAF, but didn’t get to attend a formal armorers training program, like they have in the Army or USMC. Those guys can do it all, including boring and rifling their own precision barrels.
Well, as long as you know the basics so you don’t blow it up, you should be able to hone it down to a perfect shot. Btw, you been watching Future Weapons on Discovery?
Yep, I watch that show, though they are usually way behind what I have already learned, but give good demonstrations.
I also like Weaponology on the Military Channel.
Go here for all the latest weapon technology news.
The story they had about the new M32 Multiple shot Grenade Launcher was on this site almost a year ago. BadA** weapon, too.
For us non military types, a good old demo with pictures is required. And I figure if it’s being shown now, it has been in use for years.
That six-pack system sure beats the H out of the old M79 single shot 40mm launcher we had, and the sophisticated ammo is awesome. We had two rounds for the mike-mike, an HE and a Training round, which just gave off a puff of smoke when it hit.
Not too long ago, like 3,4 years, I got to watch them blow up the old ammo at Herlong with F15’s? I don’t know the exact fighter it was, but man, what a show! Sadly, as with everything else in this state, it had to be stopped because it was an air and noise pollution hazzard.
