Dodd Bill May be First Candidate for Bush Veto

dodd.gifIn a surprising move yesterday, Christopher Dodd (D-CT) announced that he would introduce legislation to guarantee US Constitutional Rights to enemy detainees, and would seek to repeal portions of the recently enacted Military Commissions Act.

It’€™s clear the people who perpetrated these horrendous crimes against our country and our people have no moral compass and deserve to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. But in taking away their legal rights, the rights first codified in our country’€™s Constitution, we’€™re taking away our own moral compass, as well.”€

If Dodd believes that last week’s election was a mandate for this radical approach to dealing with enemy combatants, then the next two years may provide entertainment from DC not seen in a long time.

  1. You got to be kidding me.

    Who’s Constitution is he reading?

  2. He’s proud of himself.
    Thinks he’s doing God’s Work, I suppose.

  3. Well, one good thing Nuke…..we’re gonna have a lot more material to blog with for the next two years.

Its gonna be a lot easier to just bitch about everything than was to play defense.

I have no doubt that by the time the 2008 election cycle rolls around we are going to have much more motivated conservative voting block. Except of course for them idiots in Connecticut, they must be reading the same Constitution Dodd is.

btw…didn’t want to say anything, cause I dont want to whine every time I comment here…..but…Your right sidebar is covering up a portion of your text input box…and I cant see what I’m typing…..and I cant type without seeing my mistakes.

I wonder if you could maybe make the input box a little smaller?

  4. Yes, RT! Same here, and I am going to blame ALL of my typing mistakes on Nuke’s having his right margin covering up my typing.

/Even if the mistake is on the left margin, it’s still his fault.

  5. Because it just is, that’s why.

  6. Hey….I just noticed something….your texy input box is OK sizewise….until I start typing in it. Then as soon as I type the first letter, it expands about 150 px to the right.

Does that happen to anyone else?

  7. Yes. Um, do you happen to have internet explorer, by any chance? I don’t think Nuke likes IE or the people that use it.

  8. See! SEE! I’m being repressed.

  9. Yeah, SW, I gathered as much the last time I complained. ;-)

But I looked at my stats today….and only 8% of my vistors use Firefox.

And a bunch are still running 800×600 resolution…like me.

Maybe when I get a bigger monitor I can soar with the 1024×768 crowd…………….hey, until then I can just hold the period…………..key down in the areas I cant see.

  10. I haven’t figgered out why that happens. I’ll change the template and everything straightens up for a few weeks and then it starts again.
It’s a lot easier just to blame it on IE.
I’ll try something, and yall let me know how it looks

  11. Izzat any better?

  12. yep, that fixed it.

    My period key thanks you.

  13. Does that line up any better, or are yall just gonna start beechin and then run off?

  14. ah, thanks RT

  15. I think that may even be a little easier to read. I’ll keep it going until the lines get wiggly again. It’s free, so I can’t squawk too much

  16. Speaking of squiggly lines…..I am 1 week into my first pair of prescription glasses…..$459 freakin bucks worth….and they ain’t working.

    I cant tell much difference.

I hate to run….but the hot tub just reached 100,

  17. This is what I was talking about on the Web 2.0 thread.
The Dodd Story is now on Page 1 of the most popular stories at NowPublic. Here is the LINK
Once it hits the front page of 2.0 it is likely to move up the news cycle food chain, so to speak. I didn’t do anything I haven’t been doing with my blogging, except that I posted it on 2.0, and the exposure increases exponentially. Amazing shit. stuff.

  18. see ya next time RT. Hot tub sounds pretty dang good.

  19. Cool…..I will have to check into that.

  20. Does it work with Blogger?

  21. Ooooh, nice! Yeah, the last time the weird stuff happened, I couldn’t read it at all because everything was overlaid. Overlain? Hmmmmm….occupying the same space simultaneously.

But now I won’t be able to blame typos on Nuke, so there is a downside.

  22. sure, it works just fine with blogger

  23. here is my old blogger site, I’ve been using it to practice on

  24. Okay…finally have a little time to discuss the miscreant this thread is about, but rather than talk about this dingus, and his well chronicled carousing and drinking with Senator Turd Kennedy, I will instead discuss his father, Senator Thomas Dodd, another well known alcoholic in Congress.

Dodd was known to have a very serious problem with alcohol. In a 1965 incident on Capitol Hill, he was reportedly so inebriated that he needed the help of two secretaries to reach his car

    T. Dodd was also involved in the development of the Gun Control Act of 1968. The above citation also lists some of his credentials. As a member of the United States Chief of Counsel for the Prosecution of Axis Criminality at Nuremberg, Germany, the info he acquired on the German Gun Control Act of 1938, would become the basis for the GCA of ’68. In the event this is new info for you, the German Gun Control act was enacted on 18 March 1938, which made it illegal for any Jew to be armed, and set the stage for the infamous Kristallnacht, or “the crystal night.”
So, for me, the current Senator Dodd is just the apple from the tree, and an Adult Child of An Alcoholic Parent, just like BJ Clintoon.

A frightening fact about recent American “gun control” laws is that they have roots in Nazism and racism because due to their very subjective nature. A little known fact is that in 1968, the sponsor of the United States Gun Control Act (USCGA) of 1968, Democratic Senator Thomas Dodd, had in his possession, a German copy of the Nazi Weapons Law. Dodd requested that the National Library of Congress translate the German Version into English. Four months after he received the translation, the U.S. Gun Control Act of 1968 was signed into law. Take a look at the Nazi Weapons Act of 1938 and a brief comparison between the USGCA of 1968:

Nazi Weapons Act of 1938 (Translated to English)

    * Classified guns for “sporting purposes”.
    * All citizens who wished to purchase firearms had to register with the Nazi officials and have a background check.
    * Presumed German citizens were hostile and thereby exempted Nazi’s from the gun control law.
    * Gave Nazi’s unrestricted power to decide what kinds of firearms could, or could not be owned by private persons.
    * The types of ammunition that were legal were subject to control by bureaucrats.
    * Juveniles under 18 years could not buy firearms and ammunition.18

United States Gun Control Act of 1968

    * Introduced term “sporting purpose”
    * Exempted government entities from the controls, which applied to law-abiding citizens.
    * Age restrictions of 18 years and 21 years were applied to anyone who wished to purchase firearms and ammunition.
    * Authorized the Secretary of the Treasury to decide what firearms could or could not be owned by private persons.
    * The types of ammunition that were legal were subject to control by bureaucrats.
    * Age restriction of 18 years and 21 years were applied to anyone who wished to purchase firearms and ammunition. (The above comparative information was provided to us by the Jews For the Preservation of Firearms Ownership. It can be read in Gun Control, Gateway to Tyranny by Aaron Zelman).19

Unfortunately, this list goes on and includes literally hundreds of restrictions that were undoubtedly taken directly from Hitler’s Weapons Law. One merely has to read the line by line comparison of the USGCA of 1968 and the Nazi Weapons Law of March 18, 1938. The actions of Democrat Senator Thomas Dodd and those who support his law must raise serious questions from all survivors of the Holocaust.
