Three Strikes Clerical Errors and You’re Out!

REID SHOULD RESIGN

sjudjx4xsq.jpg1) On the Ritz-Carlton holiday donations, Reid gave $600 in 2002, then $1,200 in 2004 and $1,500 in 2005 from his re-election campaign to an entity listed as the REC Employee Holiday Fund. His campaign listed the expenses as campaign “salary” for two of the years and as a “contribution” one year. Reid’s office said the listing as salary was a “clerical error”

2) On the land dealings, Reid announced Monday he had failed to disclose two other transactions on his prior ethics reports …the first, involved the 2004 sale of land he owned in Searchlight, Nev. Reid said the failure to disclose those transactions previously was due to “clerical errors”.

3) The second involved land that he had not reported since 1985. The 21 year delay in admitting the lapse was, of course due to “clerical errors. Reid was elected to the Senate in 1986. For the past 20 years, Reid says his failure to disclose amounted to “two minor matters that were inadvertently left off my original disclosure forms.”

  1. Yeah, we all know how clerks get all drunk at those office parties and just put stuff in strange categories without any oversight whatsoever.

When I do my taxes next year, maybe I’ll just inadvertantly overlook including my wage and earnings. It’s for hella lot less than a big ass chunk of land. Teeny little piece of paper with a teensy little salary that was spent mostly on livestock feed and electric bills, anybody could overlook that.

  2. This guy is lower than a snake’s belly.
    He should resign. Now.
And, I think I’m going to call for his resignation every day until he does. Bandwidth is free on WordPress.

  3. Hey, knock yourself out. We both know that he’s not going to resign because, well, that would require a modicum of honor.

  4. That should be lower than a snakes belly in a wagon wheel rut.

  5. Hey, I wonder if any local politicians have some clerical positions open…..

/Promises not to audit, question, or proofread.

  6. n2l, you are truly a Beverly Hillbillies’ fan!

  7. swamps: I can’t believe this isn’t getting reported.
3 times in Wapo, once in NYT.
During the same time period, Foley was 37 and 28 respectively.
    Sheesh

  8. Yes, but Foley didn’t actually commit any crimes except for being a Gay Republican which is apparently extremely frightening to those on the lefter side of the bell curve.

  9. The question goes to nuke, as to how we get the old stream media to show interest.
