The Chairman of Islamic Courts in Mogadishu Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed

Here are a few choice comments by the sheik:

We will give everyone his rights as Islam, all women and men will participate the ongoing cleanliness efforts in Mogadishu but any one that can bear a gun will be trained for defeating enemies of Allah” sheik Sharif said. “Unity must be the target of young Islamic men in the country and that is what we always devote life” sheik sharif said adding that every young man must take gun to defeat[ed. I think it loses something in the translation here, but perhaps he means "defend"] the country from what he called the Enemies of Allah.
“The community of Somalia has passed from Clan era to Islamic era so, are you taking the ideology with us” sheik Sharif asked the gathering at Sii Sii neighborhood.
The gathering shouted yes! Alahu Akbar.
“The young men will be given proper military training to defeat[ ed: I think he means defend] the Relegion and country, while the rest of the community will cooperate for reconstruction” sheik Sharif said.
He also called people to make the country clean in order to live healthier.

cleanliness efforts, just wondering exactly what those words mean. First thought is ethnic cleansing.

Sheik sharif might as well be wearing a sign that says “hit me”.
